We are in the process of the 2009-2010 ODP season. A detailed description of our program for the coming year includes identification, selection, training, competition, and evaluation of our truly elite Louisiana youth players. While this page provides a brief synopsis of the program the attached ODP Information Packet goes into more detail including financial obligations. What are the benefits of the State Select Team Program (ODP)? The benefits of the Olympic Development Program are :
Identification - 93-98/99 Boys and Girls birth year. The ODP tryout is for every player in the State of Louisiana. Players who participate in the ODP pool during the 2008-2009 ODP season are invited to participate on the 2009-2010 ODP tryouts. Club coaches are welcome to send the players recommendation for talented players who would like to be challenged at the ODP tryout. New scouted players will receive by email a letter of invitation to participate in the Tryout.
Selection What is Regional Camp? US Youth Soccer is divided into four regions; each offers a region camp for Youth Association State Teams (ODP) in each eligible age group. The camps are designed to provide high level competition. Players who are capable of performing at a higher level of play are identified and selected for Regional Pool and Regional Team participation. These selected players may then be invited to represent the Region at the National Team Camp. What is National Camp? National Camps and Interregional events are held throughout the year at various locations in the United States. The National Team Coach or National Staff Coach is present at these events to observe, train, and identify players for placement in the US National Pool or on the US National Team. Financial Commitment Please see the attached ODP Information Packet for Financial Commitment Infomation.
