Soccer release form

What do player’s need to bring?  **Players will be staying in a dorm so they will need to bring some additional items.  Please read the list carefully.
Please make sure that players CLEARLY mark and label their equipment!!

  • Grey ODP tryout t-shirt, pool uniform
  • Bedding (sheets for twin bed, blanket, pillow)
  • Toiletries (towels, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
  • Soccer gear (cleats, shin guards, GK gloves, GK jerseys, etc.)
  • Soccer Ball
  • Water jug
  • Money (this is for any additional snacks or drinks that the player wishes to purchase).

If you wish to visit with your child while at the dorm, we ask that you respect the following guidelines:
1. Parents are NOT allowed in the player’s room.  There are other players that they share the room with and you must respect their room.
2.  Players can come to the lobby and visit you, but must still respect all curfew/meeting times.

Player’s Conduct
Players will be held to high standard of behavior.  Any player that chooses to not follow rules or act in an appropriate way will be dismissed from camp and sent home at their parent’s expense.  In the event that a player causes any physical damage to property, they will be expected to pay for any repairs caused by the damages.

Parents

It is time to get commitments for the Oklahoma trip. The final cost for the trip to Oklahoma will be $700.  You will need to sign up via the GotSoccer Registration link above. You can choose to pay all at once or in three payments of $250, 250 and 200. These payments will be due on the 1st of the month or 15th please choose the plan which will work best for you.

Included in the cost of this trip is the bus, food, accomodations and all coaching fees and expenses. The camp will take place on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.

The Camp Schedule for 2009 is posted above.   I will post the current schedule as soon as it is received. The girls will stay in dorms and eat in the cafeteria on campus. They will be coached by State, Regional and ODP staff.

The bus will depart Saturday June 12.  They will arrive in Oklahoma on Saturday and stay on campus in the camp housing.  We will be sending out more about pick up information as soon as we have time to develop the bus schedule.

Please also print and fill out the soccer release form.  We need to have this before the trip. This form is from last year I will update as soon as they send a new form.

Please contact me or Mark Godwin if you have any other questions.

Parents

This was written by Susan Sheehan, 97 Girls Administrator, to give parents more information about this camp. Susan also attended this camp with her older daughter who is a 95 ODP player.

Dear 97G ODP Parents:

The ODP Committee asked me to give you a testimonial, of sorts, about the Oklahoma Sub-Regional Event that the 97G will attend in June. I went last year as a chaperone/administrator for the 95G and it was a great experience. I have a 97G who will attend this summer's event.

A typical day for your daughter will include morning and afternoon training sessions, followed by competitive matches against other state teams in the evenings. The week culminates with an All-Star game at the OU soccer complex on the last night, and wild-and-crazy small-sided games the last morning, when the girls design their own uniforms and play for fun.

The girls travel to and from Oklahoma on a chartered team bus, along with their coaches and chaperones. They stay in dormitories on the OU campus in Norman, OK, where they are strictly monitored. Each girl has a cardkey to enter her locked hallway and a key to enter her dorm room, which she will share with a roommate. The chaperones stay in dorm rooms on the same hallway as the players. At no time is a girl left on her own: the girls go as a group on all outings, including to the dorm cafeteria for meals and the soccer fields for all training and games. The girls are not allowed to leave the group for any reason.

The ODP Committee continues to work on details for the event, and they will be communicated to you as soon as possible. While I know you are all eager to know more, hopefully the above information gives you a little better understanding of what you can expect. I feel certain the week will be full of great fun and great soccer for your daughter!

Looking forward to meeting you all,

Susan Sheehan
